Nancy O'Dell's career in broadcasting began as a reporter and anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle beach, South Carolina. Later, she worked at WCBD as an anchor in the morning and a crime reporter. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports regarding the police's lenient approach to DUI cases caused the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that resulted in State authorities issuing a more stringent directive regarding these situations. In the year 2000, Associated Press awarded Ms. O'Dell an award for the Best Report of the year Award for all South Carolina media. O'Dell, after her stint at Charleston as a reporter and anchor at NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV station before moving into Access Hollywood where she is an anchor and reporter during weekends. Her current position as a host on Access Hollywood is complemented by her contributions to NBC News Today, Dateline NBC as well as NBC News. The anchor has hosted a number of Pre-ShowArrivals programs to The Emmys as well as The Golden Globe Awards. She has also hosted Miss USA Pageant and Miss Universe.
